Centerpiece Styles and Pricing for Your Seattle Wedding

As you plan your big day, you'll want to consider the style of centerpiece you'd like to feature on your reception tables. From classic and romantic to modern and unique, I offer a variety of centerpiece styles to fit the look and feel of your wedding.

When it comes to pricing, centerpieces can range widely from $95 per table for simple candles and loose greenery to $500 for a large elevated centerpiece. There are lots of factors to consider beyond cost including but not limited to table size, food service style, table shape, and overall aesthetic

Popular Centerpiece Options

When it comes to your wedding centerpieces, you have many options to choose from. As your wedding florist, I’m here to help you determine the best style for your event. Compotes, elevated centerpieces, bud vases, and garlands are all popular options for weddings.

Compotes are a classic centerpiece choice that have been popular for years. They are usually designed in a glass, metal, or ceramic bowl, and they’re extremely versatile. Our compote designs typically start at $175 each, however we may suggest slightly smaller ones between $125-150 if you’re using several on a long table.

Elevated centerpieces are a great way to add height and drama to your table. They are usually elevated on a metal stand or large glass vase. We recommend mixing them with compotes on up to half of the tables. Our elevated centerpieces are typically priced between $350-500.

Bud vases are a great option for couples who are looking for a more minimalist look. Bud vases start at $25 and if you’re replacing a compote centerpiece on a round table we typically suggest grouping 5 together. For an 8-foot long table, we recommend a minimum of 7 bud vases. They feature a single flower variety in a small glass or ceramic vase, and can be placed together in groups to create more volume.

For another minimalist look, we can create centerpieces with a group of 5 pillar candles and loose greenery tucked around them. We’ll work with you to choose a candle color that makes sense with your wedding color palette. Pillar candle centerpieces are $95 per table.

Finally, garlands are a great way to add a natural and organic feel to your tables. They can be draped across the front of a head table or used as a runner on a long table. Garlands are usually $30 per foot for just greenery and $45+ per foot with floral accents. The price can be affected by the specific flower and greenery selection. Garland costs add up quickly even though they are notoriously regarded as a “cheaper” option.

Choosing the Perfect Centerpiece(s)

Your wedding florist can help you determine the best centerpiece for your table size and shape, as well as how the food will be served. For example, if you plan to serve family-style, you'll need more space on the table for the serving dishes.

Your florist will also be able to provide you with an estimate of the cost of your selected centerpiece designs. We recommend a mix of two centerpiece styles in the reception space for more visual interest. This cost will depend on the type of flowers and greenery used, as well as the size of the arrangement.

Cost Considerations of Your Centerpieces

From the size of the centerpiece to the flower selection, the cost of your centerpiece can vary significantly. Sweetheart, head and king’s table will usually require a larger investment depending on the look you’re going for.

The main considerations are the size of your reception tables and the number of centerpieces you need. Keep in mind that centerpieces cost will be one of the larger line items on your floral estimate. You will likely need a larger quantity of designs for the reception space than anywhere else at your wedding.

Many couples want to include candles in their table designs and most florists provide them as part of their service for an additional fee. If you’re working with an independent rental company, they may also have candles available to rent. Taper candles and pillar candles are priced at $12 each and include the candle, holder, and glass. Votives with tea lights are typically $5 each but may vary depending on the style.

At the end of the day, the cost of your centerpieces will depend on the size, abundance, flower selection, and quantities.

Your Investment

We recommend investing in your centerpieces and table designs since your guests will be seated at their tables for a significant period of time during the reception. We typically suggest allocating at least $175 per table for your wedding centerpiece, plus additional costs for candles. The cost of your centerpiece will vary depending on the style you choose. We recommend mixing two centerpiece styles for more visual interest.

Wedding centerpieces are an important part of your wedding design and overall aesthetic. There are many different styles to choose from, and the cost of your centerpiece will depend on several factors. When considering your wedding reception investment, it's important to consider all of the factors that will impact the cost.
