Neutral Ethereal Wedding Inspiration at JM Cellars | Woodinville, WA
Classic wedding designs tend to lean more feminine—think blush, tulle, white roses etc etc. In this blog post, we will showcase a neutral ethereal wedding photoshoot that took place at JM Cellars in Woodinville, Washington. We wanted to show that neutrals don’t just have to mean white and green. There are neutrals beyond white that create a timeless but distinct look. And we’re all about pushing creative boundaries over here.
We love how the florals feel lush and abundant, while still delicate and feminine. Some of the flowers we utilized feature:
peonies
roses
foxglove
sweet peas
bearded irises
feverfew
belle epoque tulips
and other stunning spring flowers
The design for this photoshoot was inspired by the idea of equilibrium between masculine and feminine elements. We wanted the concept to feel ethereal but balanced. The venue exterior is mostly dark/black so we wanted to incorporate that color into our design elements as well for a holistic approach. We utilized neutral and tonal florals with shades of gold, white, and cream in all the arrangements. The bridal bouquet is a great example of a luxe, garden style design with neutral colored flowers. It features a sheer ochre silk ribbon tied in a bow, which perfectly complements the florals. The full, lush arch design with neutral and tonal florals in cream, white, and gold with touches of airy, whimsical greenery created the perfect backdrop for the ceremony space.
The lush table design is full of simple floral arrangements, votive and taper candles, and styled with fresh fruit to create a beautiful and romantic ambiance. The use of modern gold and black flatware with a walnut wood charger and a black dinner plate with a glass-textured salad plate layered on top adds a touch of sophistication to the overall design. The cream linen napkins, tied in a knot, softens the heavier feeling plates and charger to complement the overall look of the table design. Ribbed cocktail glasses and modern red wine glasses give a contemporary twist to the table setting. The ribbed glass votives in various sizes and colored taper candles in shades of honey and caramel are the perfect addition to add soft candlelight and ambiance.
The modern and minimal paper design by the talented Taylor of Honest Calligraphy included an invitation suite and menus which perfectly complement the theme of the photoshoot. The use of neutral colors and clean lines is a perfect reflection of the overall aesthetic. All that being said, we didn’t want the design to be completely devoid of personality and added in some subtle touches of texture and color for more visual interest.
A neutral wedding palette is a great choice for couples who want a timeless and chic wedding aesthetic. Think beyond white when looking to incorporate neutral colors into your wedding. This type of design would be perfect for almost any wedding venue. The incorporation of masculine and feminine elements creates a balanced look that is both sophisticated and romantic.
